HVB high voltage resistors are mainly used as charge or discharge resistors in high voltage circuits. Anodized aluminum is used for the resistor housing, improving corrosion and wear resistance. The protection rating for the resistor housing is IP65. This excellent protection rating indicates that the resistors withstand solid and liquid contaminants in the operating environment.
The energy levels for a single discharge vary between 150 – 570 kJ. The maximum working voltages for HVB resistors are 4.5kVAC / 6.4kVDC. The resistors is standard fitted with 1 meter Radox cable connection.
Danotherm HVB resistors are convection-cooled devices. Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat, and the housing design facilitates heat dissipation. Aluminum is chosen as the material for the housings because it is non-corrosive, non-magnetic, lightweight yet durable, and is an excellent conductor of heat. The resistors are fully insulated and have no external live parts.
Typical applications for Danotherm HVB resistors are charge, dump, and crowbar resistors.
