Danotherm CCH series resistors are compact, low to medium power resistors with a profile height of only 15 mm. They belong to the aluminum-housed ALPHA product range manufactured with UL-approved components for high performance and reliability.
Aluminum is chosen as the material for the housings because it is non-corrosive, non-magnetic, non-sparking, lightweight yet durable, and is an excellent conductor of heat. The resistors are fully insulated and have no external live parts. The resistive element are made of a Nickel-Chrome alloy that has very low thermal drift and high electrical resistance accuracy. The resistive elements are mica insulated for high dielectric strength.
Power ratings for Danotherm CCH resistors with natural convection range from 100 to 570 W. When mounted on a heatsink-cooled plate, the power ratings improve to 500 to 2500 W. The working voltages are 600 VAC / 850 VDC. Depending on resistance value, the overload factor ranges from 4 to 25 times the nominal power rating over 5-second pulse/120s. Protection ratings for CCH resistors are IP54/IP65.
A thermal switch is available as an option for overtemperature signaling. OEM resistor versions are available on request.
Danotherm CCH resistors mainly serve for charging/discharging in DC-links and as brake resistors in small inverter drives.
