Laser Grid Cabinet (LACG-LV) / Cut Grid Cabinet (CGC-LV) resistors are low-voltage steel grid resistors.
The grids elements are manufactured by punching and laser-cutting machines and are then assembled into resistor blocks. A mica-insulated steel rod supports the grids. The grids and the blocks are welded together and then mounted in cabinets. Galvanized steel makes up the standard enclosures. Stainless steel enclosures and custom enclosures are available on request.
The choice of steel and alloy varies with application. Even though requirements vary, minor customization enables the usage of standard Danotherm steel grid resistors for most applications.
LACG-LV resistors have power ratings between 5 and 55 KW, whereas CGC-LV resistors have power ratings between 3 and 29 kW, and their working voltages are 1000 VAC / 1400 VDC.
Depending on the resistor, the maximum overload for Danotherm LACG-LV / CGC-LV can go up to 10 times the nominal power rating at 5s pulse load.
Danotherm LACG-LV / CGC-LV resistors are compact, reliable, and robust. The standard protection ratings range from IP00 to IP23, enabling indoor as well as outdoor use. Optional IP44 can be offered, depending on the specifications.
Cooling is done by natural air convection. Their use as brake resistors in elevators, cranes, and gas/wind turbines is widespread.
