Extruded aluminium housing provides superior heat conduction. Housing deep finned for maximum heat dissipation at natural or forced air convection. Gold anodized finish for maximum resistance to environmental conditions. Special thermosetting compound with high thermal conductivity. Winding designed to give maximum core coverage and uniformity for even heat dissipation. Core centerless ground for maximum winding uniformity. Marking at top surface for easy identification after mounting. Complete welded construction terminal to terminal.
These resistors belong to the lower power ratings of the aluminium housed types. They are mostly used in DC-links for charging and de-charging and in small inverter drives systems as brake resistor. CCH can be mounted on a (water) cooled plate to increase the nominal power. CAR has cooling fins to optimize heat transfer to the ambient air. The nominal power ranges from 60-440W, maximum working voltage is 690VAC/850VDC, pulse load values depend on Ohmic value and range between 4 to 25 x Pnominal at a 5 seconds square load.
These resistors have increased nominal and overload capabilities compared to the CCH / CAH series. They are mostly used in DC-links for charging and de-charging and in medium power inverter drives systems as brake resistor. CBR has cooling fins to optimize heat transfer to the ambient air. The nominal power ranges from 85-1700W, standard maximum working voltage is 690VAC/850VDC. 1000VAC/1400VDC types are available on request. The pulse load values depend on Ohmic value and range between 10 to 27 x Pnominal at a 5 seconds square load.
* nominal power per housing, multiple housing units available.
These resistors have a high pulse load capability. Their cooling fins allow repetitive pulse loads. Mainly they are used as brake resistors in medium and high power drives systems. Nominal power ranges from 455W till 12kW for a quadruple housed CBT unit.
These resistors have very high pulse load capability and are used in applications where the pulse load is not often repeated like in Wind and gas turbines and as discharge resistor in super capacitors DC-links. Overload values given in the table apply to single pulses every 30 minutes and range between 27 till 85 x nominal power. HVBS resistors are used in medium voltge systems up to 4200VDC.

These resistors have very high pulse load capability and are used in applications where the pulse load is not often repeated like in Wind and gas turbines and as discharge resistor in super capacitors DC-links. Overload values given in the table apply to single pulses every 30 minutes and range between 20 till 60 x nominal power.

CVS type resistors are at the moment our biggest size aluminium housed resistors with very high pulse load capability and are used in applications where the pulse load is not often repeated like in Wind and gas turbines and as discharge resistor in super capacitors DC-links. Overload values given in the table apply to single pulses every 30 minutes and range between 60 till 120 x nominal power.
They are available in single housed or multiple housed units.
These type of resistors are used in HV applications with high pulse loads as dump resistors and crowbar resistors. The nominal power is 600 W – 1kW, short time energy level ranges from 150kJ – 570kJ depending on Ohmic value. Working voltage is maximum 4,500V.
